TML Annual Conference – Lunch Wednesday

January 1, 2012

The taxpayers of Watauga graciously included lunch at a separately ticketed event. The food was excellent, probably the best I have ever had at an event as large as this. The speaker changed at the last minute. I believe he was the cofounder of The Texas Tribune, but I may be wrong about that. The talk was on the potential changes if Rick Perry were to be elected as President and the Lt. Gov. was sent to the Senate. He also discussed the races where people were running for seats that the incumbent was vacating. There was some discussion about who might be the replacement Lt. Governor and described the process for filling the position from one of the Texas Senators. Most of it was vaguely interesting, but I don’t have much interest in Texas politics beyond Watauga. I do think there are a lot of people in Austin who need a boot in the butt, I just don’t think I’m the guy to do it.
