Texas spent almost $3 million on lawsuits against the federal government

I expect that this is going to be the wave of the future.  These defensive expenditures are necessary to defend the liberties of states.  The 10th amendment to the US Constitution used to have this covered, but America threw that under the bus after the Civil War.

I applaud the governor and attorney general for doing this, whether they win or lose, these freedoms are worth fighting for – or suing for.   Of all the things the state spends money on, this is one of the best things they could be spending money on.

I predict that there will be significant expenditures by cities against the state for similar reasons.  The state is just taking too many powers that should be retained at lower levels of government where politics are still responsive to feedback from voters.
