Veteran’s Memorial Citizen Advisory Committee

The Parks Development Corporation (PDC) has money set aside to create a Veteran’s Memorial in Capp-Smith park. They’d like to get some volunteers to help with the development of this project. If this is something that you would like to help with, there’s an application on that page.
When I talked with the City Secretary yesterday, she mentioned that there’s only been three applications for it. It’s disappointing that there is not more involvement in the activities that are going on around here. If you have an interest, please fill out the paperwork and participate.
I expect that you would find it to be a very rewarding experience. My wife used to work as a Landscape Architect. I used to get quite a kick out of going around and seeing the projects that she’d done the landscape work for. It might be a year or more on some of the projects, but knowing that my wife designed them and spec’d them out was just really cool. I think you’d be missing something very pleasant in your life by not having a similar feeling for your work.
