NETTP meeting on Monday

March 9, 2013

Several months ago, I was invited to participate in this panel discussion.  I committed to it then so I’m going to be going.  I’m sorry that I’ll be missing the budget workshop but I’ll be able to watch the whole thing after the fact, so I don’t think I’ll be missing too much.  Anyway, I’ll post a description of the event below in case you have any interest in attending.

The tea party got its start due to outrage at national politics.  And then we realized the old adage is true…  All politics really are local!  Yet, few of us have any understanding of our municipal government and how it is run.  In a recent survey of NETTP members, city government came up as one of the very most important topics to cover.  So…  you asked…  we deliver!

NE Tarrant Tea Party meeting

Guest Speaker:  Wayne Richard – 21 Minutes on Agenda 21

followed by a

Q&A panel of local city council members

March 11, 2013, 6:30-8:00pm

$5 dinner served at 6pm

Grace Community Church

251 Countryside Ct, Southlake  76092

How can you influence your city council members?  Is your city plugged into Agenda 21?  What is Agenda 21?  What steps do you take to run for office?  How can I be involved without being a council member?  Is there value in going to council meetings?  What’s all this talk about the “meeting before the meeting”?  What role does a City Manager play as opposed to a Mayor?  What is the North TX Council of Governments?  Who is a council accountable to?  Who is NTCOG accountable to?  What changes are coming to my city?  How many letters or calls do you have to receive to take notice?

These are all questions you may want to ask our local city council members!  YOU have a voice in this meeting!

  • Doug Miller, Keller
  • Russell Clements, Watauga
  • Michael Muhm, Colleyville
  • Darlene Freed, Grapevine
  • Brandon Bledsoe, Southlake
