Why no reward for citizen that shot a punk in October?

March 28, 2013

I believe it was back in October (of 2012) that a resident in Watauga awoke in the early hours of the morning in his home to find two strangers who were threatening harm to his son.

Our hero retrieved a rifle and shot one of the intruders.  The other got away unscathed.

I’m disappointed that our Mayor has not awarded this resident some kind of recognition for his civic duty to the community.  Namely, having a gun, knowing how to use it and being prepared to take these punk intruders out.

I wish this resident had been honored for providing the punk with some much needed incentive to consider a different career choice.  I thank him for his preparedness, his clarity of thought and aim and for doing our community such a great favor by taking action.

Not only that, but this great service did not cost the taxpayer a single cent.

Thank you for reading and for commenting.

There is much I find repulsive about our “justice system” which seems to so rarely deliver anything close to that. We’re told that it’s the system, not the result. Some day, I’ll write about that as I had an epiphany in that regard a couple of years ago. However, underlying the “justice system” are a set of value determinations which provide the principles for the delivery of justice. With the secularization of our society, many of those value determinations have been watered down or even thrown out entirely. This is a disturbing trend which portends evil for our nation.

      Thank you for your comment.
